ANOTHER case of immigrants raping underage girls in britain

this isn’t a “grooming” case ’cause, apparently, these guys weren’t pimping out the girls — at least that’s not what they were brought to trial for. thankfully they each got ca. eighteen years in prison (i hope they serve the full amount). note that they are an uncle-nephew team (probably uncle/cousin-nephew/cousin team…):

‘What you did is depressingly familiar in this country’: Judge condemns pair who drugged and raped vulnerable underage girls before moving on to ‘fresh meat'”

“- Shazad Rehman, 30, and nephew Bilal Hussain, 23, jailed today in Bradford
– Underage vulnerable girls were picked up as the men cruised the streets
– Known as ‘Yaz and Naz’ – they plied the girls with alcohol and cannabis
– Girls were ’emotionally fragile and may have been seeking attention’
– Judge said conduct was ‘pernicious, wicked and determined’

“Two men have today been jailed for drugging and raping vulnerable underage girls they found walking the streets.

“Shazad Rehman, 30, was jailed for 18-and-half years and his nephew Bilal Hussain, 23, was jailed for 17-and-a-half years at Bradford Crown Court.

Judge Jonathan Rose said the men ‘engaged in a course of conduct which has become increasingly and depressingly familiar in this country’….”

yup. yup. yup.

“The pair denied abusing the girls, who were picked up as they cruised the streets of Keighley and Halifax, West Yorkshire….

“The court heard how Rehman and Hussain – known as ‘Yaz and Naz’ – plied the girls with alcohol and cannabis and took them to hotels for sex.

“One 14-year-old girl said she felt ashamed, dirty and worthless after she was drugged and raped.

“Miss Colborne QC said Rehman boasted his victims were ‘fresh meat’.

“She said: ‘They acted together, travelling from their various home addresses in Leeds and Halifax to Keighley town centre where they specifically targeted vulnerable girls, all underage….

“Judge Rose told Rehman and Hussain: ‘It is conduct which is pernicious, wicked and determined….’

“Rehman, of no fixed address, was found guilty of raping two girls, sexual activity with one of the same girls and sexually assaulting two different girls.

“Hussain, of Leeds, was found guilty of raping two girls and also of assaulting one of his victims.

“Both men were also convicted of a series of drugs offences and a charge of conspiring to intimidate a witness….”

so this is the third or fourth such case i’ve posted about here on the blog in the last half year. and i haven’t been looking for such stories — these are just the ones i’ve happened come across when reading the british news. presumably there are more. a lot more. =/

previously: diversity über alles and rotten in rotherham and operation bullfinch

(note: comments do not require an email. yaz and naz. or maybe it’s the other way ’round.)

operation bullfinch

i had intended on posting about this a lot, but the topic makes my blood pressure go up (no joke), so i’ve had to avoid it. but now i see that douglas murray referred to it in an article of his in standpoint, so i thought i’d at least quote him on it and maybe throw in some links to a few news stories.

operation bullfinch, in case you haven’t heard — and you may not have even if you live in the u.k., the media coverage has been so shamefully lacking — is an investigation into yet another one of these muslim-men-“grooming”-young-white-girls cases in the u.k. yes, ANOTHER one — not to be confused with what happened in rotherham which i posted about last autumn — and not to be confused with whatever the h*ll was going on here in birmingham. no, operation bullfinch was an investigation of a “grooming” case in oxfordshire which has now been brought to trial.

here from murray (you should read his whole article, btw, which is on immigration in general — great stuff):

“Census That Revealed a Troubling Future”

“… Although immigration has boosted the economy and made Britain a more diverse and in some ways interesting place, it has also made us poorer, drained our resources and brought cultural practices we could happily do without. In January a gang of nine Muslim men — seven of Pakistani origin, two from North Africa — went on trial at the Old Bailey for the sex trafficking of children from the ages of 11 to 15. One of the victims sold into slavery was a girl of 11. She was branded with the initial of her ‘owner’ abuser: ‘M’ for Mohammed. The court heard that Mohammed ‘branded her to make her his property and to ensure others knew about it’. This did not happen in some Saudi or Pakistani backwater, but in Oxfordshire from 2004 to 2012.

“Of course gang-rape and child abuse are not the preserve of immigrants. But as recent child rape-gang cases in the north of England have also shown, there are specific cultural ideas and attitudes that some immigrants bring with them — about women, other races and sexual minorities — which are not even medieval yet….

indeed.

“Attempts to impose parallel legal systems, ‘blasphemy laws’, and other new ‘norms’ of behaviour are subtler versions of the same. But so fearful of ‘racism’ and so in retreat is the core culture that it can barely rouse itself even to point any of this out. What media reporting there is of cases such as that in Oxfordshire is not only scant and periodic, but fearful and hedged with caveats to the point of obliqueness….
_____

the best reporting on this trial, which is still ongoing (we’re now up to day 26), has come out of a local oxford paper, The Oxford Times (here’s their Operation Bullfinch archive page). the case, so far anyway, seems mostly to be based on testimony from the girls (now women), some friends of the girls, and some social workers. there might be some other witnesses, too, but like i said, i haven’t been following the case all that closely.

what’s come out in the testimonies so far will make your stomach turn. if even only half of it is true…:

“Oxford sex ring trial begins”

“The prosecution has opened its case at the Old Bailey against nine men, aged between 24 and 38, accused of sexually exploiting six under-age girls in the Oxford area….

“The court heard that the nine men accused of sexually abusing young girls in Oxford ‘ensured girls were guarded so that they could not escape’.

“The charges, spanning a period from 2004 to January of last year, relate to offences that are alleged to have been committed against girls aged between 11 and 16. They took 30 minutes to be read out in court.

“Jurors at the Old Bailey were told that one alleged victim, who cannot be named, was ‘sold’ to Mohammed Karrar at 11 to ‘cure her bad attitude’, then repeatedly raped by him and his brother, Bassam Karrar.

“The court was told that Mohammed Karrar charged other men £400 to £600 to rape the girl, now in her 20s, in a way she described as ‘torture’ until she was 15. She also claimed to be injected with heroin.

“After being impregnated by a member of the group at age 12, the court heard that Mohammed Karrar arranged for her to have an illegal abortion in a back-room in Reading. The girl claims she was also beaten for falling pregnant.

“Jurors were also told that on one occasion Karrar heated a hair pin with a lighter and branded the girl’s buttock with the the letter M as he claimed to ‘own her’….”

“Bullfinch Trial Day 24: Girl claims she was physically abused”

“A TEENAGER yesterday told a jury she was physically abused by a man who charged £600 for others to have sex with her….

“The woman is one of six to claim they were groomed and abused by nine men accused of running a child sex exploitation gang in Oxford. Known as Girl 4, as she cannot be named, she says brothers Mohammed and Bassam Karrar raped and prostituted her between the ages of 11 and 15.

“On Wednesday she told the jury Mohammed Karrar, 38, made her feel like they were in a relationship before making her have sex with other men.

“Yesterday, she said when she was 12 he physically abused her as well.

“The young woman said the two brothers would rape her together….

“Giving evidence through a video link, the teenager said when she was 12, Mohammed Karrar tried to rape her in a bathroom, but she grabbed his knife and threatened to stab him.

“He took her downstairs and hit her around the head with a metal baseball bat, the court heard.

“She said: ‘I remember whistling in my ear. My head felt really heavy and pounded.’

“When she came round he was assaulting her with the bat handle, the jury heard….

“She said Mohammed Karrar would take her to hotels and private properties to serve drink, drugs, and provide sex services.

“There would be up to 15 men and it could happen up to four times a week, the court heard.

“The child was made to act out men’s ‘weird fantasies’ and was sexually assaulted with knife handles and meat cleavers, the court heard….”

i’ll stop there.

but before i end this post — the msm is bad, but i just want to have a go at the social workers and teachers and police, etc. — the people charged with looking after these girls who are all from low-class, troubled backgrounds. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!:

“Care staff ‘knew girl was being groomed'”

“A TEENAGER went missing from a children’s home 126 times and it was the ‘general consensus’ among staff that she was being groomed, the Old Bailey heard….”

well, jesus! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! it’s your JOB!

sex and “the other”

“the other” is a shapeless concept in anthropology/the social sciences which i never quite understood — prolly ’cause the anthropologists/social scientists don’t understand it themselves. it’s got something to do with how we react to people who are unlike ourselves somehow or in some way … different headdresses or tattoos or taste in music … or something like that. it might’ve been a useful concept if they’d looked at it from the p.o.v. of genetics, but they mostly didn’t so … never mind….

anyway.

in light of the scandals in rotherham, i thought i’d take some time out from the regularly scheduled program to present a couple of very vague ideas i have related to sex and genetic relatedness between individuals/groups. i haven’t really thought through these ideas, so they’re very vague. don’t say i didn’t warn you. (also, could be that actual scientists have already thought through/done lots of research on all of these already and i’m not aware of it. if so, just ignore me.)

vague thought number one:

if the prime directive is to reproduce your genes (or at least those that would have an effect in this case) as much as possible, one tactic in achieving that goal might be to reduce how much your competitors — those individuals unrelated to you who don’t share your genes — manage to reproduce their genes. you could do that by a) killing them, and/or b) preventing them from reproducing in some other way.

one way to prevent “the other” guys from reproducing (so much) would be to mate as much as possible with, if you imagine two neighboring tribes, their usual mates. then, not only do you reduce the actual reproduction of “the other” guys’ genes, you also increase your own and spread your genes even that much further than you would’ve if you just stuck to the members of your own tribe. so it’s possible — possible — then that a special drive for mating with “the other” could’ve been something that was selected for ’cause it might’ve paid off.

however, you would think this would be a better strategy for men than for women since reproduction for human females is such a long, drawn-out, costly affair, whereas men can just spread their seed hither and thither without a care in the world. a drive for sex with “the other” might, then, be stronger in men than in women, and might even result in a certain amount of sexual coercion (to put it nicely) since the women don’t really want to engage in this sex with “the other” so much. and this coercion might be applied more often to unrelated/unlike females than to related/like females a la ghengis khan and his band of literal brothers sweeping across eurasia raping and pillaging wherever they went (that’d be one of the more extreme examples — extreme in terms of behaviors exhibited and in terms of success).
_____

vague thought number two:

in my world of inbred populations, familial altruism rules the day because it pays more — inclusive fitness-wise — to be altruistic towards your family members, since you share an inordinate number of genes with them compared to non-family members. perhaps, too, in an inbred society it would also pay more to mate with “the other” (as described above) if and when you could since, in an inbred society, the different extended families/clans are less related to one another than families in an outbred society. by mating with your unrelated neighbor’s sister, you’re (heh) screwing him genetically more than a guy in an outbred society would do to his neighbor. in other words, perhaps a stronger drive to mate with “the other” could be selected for in inbred societies because the effect of “vague thought number one” would be amplified. (perhaps this is why peoples in the arab world/middle east cover their women up in burkas — for their own protection just like they often say!)
_____

vague thought number three:

glenn daniel wilson has suggested that rape is/was a reproductive strategy of — i guess the gameboyz would call them beta males — guys who didn’t have access to females ’cause some alpha males had all or most of the access. maybe, then, the drive to rape is a response to polygamy. maybe. if so, that would certainly seem to fit the arab world and might explain why they are overly protective of their women (burkas, purdah). might even explain what happened in rotherham. i have to admit, i’m not 100% convinced by this one. i think it might be part of the explanation, but not the sole one.
_____

vague thought number four:

i’ve been meaning to do a post on this, but just haven’t gotten around to it, so i’ll just tack it on here. sex drives and the hajnal line — something which jayman mentioned in the comments here.

you’ve probably all seen henry harpending and greg cochran’s recent (very cool!) discussions about fathers’ ages and mutation rates (most recent example here). my question, wrt the late marriage trend in western europe for both men and women, is: has there been any selection for behaviors related to these late marriages?

if — if — over the last few hundred years, those nw europeans who married (i.e. mated) at a later age were more successful at leaving their genes behind than those who married young, were certain behavioral traits related to this selected for? greater ability to delay gratification, for instance (in this case sexual gratification!)? relatively lower libido (“no sex, please, we’re british!” — see also monty python)? other traits i haven’t thought of?

like jayman said in his comment, in most of the world even today — and in many more parts up until very recently — a 14, 15, 16 year-old girl is/was considered very marriable/matable. maybe nw europeans feel that relatively less so. dunno.

peace corps rapes

from the nyt:

Peace Corps Volunteers Speak Out on Rape
May 10, 2011

“WASHINGTON — Jess Smochek arrived in Bangladesh in 2004 as a 23-year-old Peace Corps volunteer with dreams of teaching English and ‘helping the world.’ She left six weeks later a rape victim after being brutalized in an alley by a knife-wielding gang.

“When she returned to the United States, the reception she received from Peace Corps officials was as devastating, she said, as the rape itself. In Bangladesh, she had been given scant medical care; in Washington, a counselor implied that she was to blame for the attack. For years she kept quiet, feeling ‘ashamed and embarrassed and guilty.’

“Today, Ms. Smochek is among a growing group of former Peace Corps volunteers who are speaking out about their sexual assaults, prompting scrutiny from Congress and a pledge from the agency for reform. In going public, they are exposing an ugly sliver of life in the Peace Corps: the dangers that volunteers face in far-flung corners of the world and the inconsistent — and, some say, callous — treatment they receive when they become crime victims….

“But from 2000 to 2009, on average, 22 Peace Corps women each year reported being the victims of rape or attempted rape, the agency says. During that time, more than 1,000 Peace Corps volunteers reported sexual assaults, including 221 rapes or attempted rapes. Because sexual crimes often go unreported, experts say the incidence is likely to be higher, though they and the Peace Corps add that it is difficult to assess whether the volunteers face any greater risk overseas than women in the United States do….

“Lois Puzey, whose daughter Kate was murdered in 2009 while posted in Benin, will testify. So will Ms. Smochek, now a board member of First Response Action, a fledgling advocacy group founded by another former volunteer, Casey Frazee. Ms. Frazee was sexually assaulted in South Africa in 2009 and came home, she said, determined to not ‘let the Peace Corps toss me off like I was an isolated incident….’

“Jessica Gregg, who was drugged and sexually assaulted in 2007 in Mozambique, said a Peace Corps medical officer ‘made me write in my testimony that I was intoxicated’ and suggested that ‘I willingly had sex with this guy.’ She and a number of other women complained that a training video the Peace Corps uses places too much emphasis on the role of alcohol in sexual assaults; in response, Mr. Williams said the video would be replaced.

“Many, like Kate Finn, who was raped in Costa Rica and now works in the district attorney’s office in Denver as a victim’s advocate, complain that they are not advised on how to prosecute their attackers; a 2010 survey of Peace Corps volunteers revealed that nearly 40 percent of those raped and 50 percent of those sexually assaulted did not report their attacks. Ms. Finn said that her attacker’s family was on the police force and that she ‘did not feel safe’ reporting what had happened.

“Still others say they are given inadequate information about counseling. Karestan Koenen, who sought therapy on her own and is now a psychologist who teaches at Columbia and Harvard, said she was shocked to discover that women today were confronting the same difficulties as she did when she was raped in 1991 in Niger….”

mugged raped by reality.

i knew this swpl chick once who had been a peace corps volunteer on one of the poorer caribbean islands. she was a nurse and she told me a story about how she treated a girl who was 9 years old … who was pregnant … who never experienced having her period. and this former peace corps chick wanted to go BACK there. to LIVE! i just kept thinking, why the f*ck would you want to live in a place like THAT?!

the viagra war?

this is pretty bizarre if (IF) it’s true:

Gaddafi ‘supplies troops with Viagra to encourage mass rape’, claims diplomat

“US ambassador Susan Rice has also said, without offering evidence, that Iran was helping Syria to suppress dissent

“One of America’s most senior diplomats claimed at the United Nations security council that Muammar Gaddafi is supplying his troops with Viagra to encourage mass rape, according to diplomats.

“Susan Rice, the US ambassador to the UN made the claim while accusing Gaddafi of numerous human rights abuses. Earlier in the week Rice also claimed, without offering any evidence, that Iran is helping Syria suppress internal dissent.

“Foreign affairs specialists expressed scepticism about both claims.

“The Viagra claim surfaced in an al-Jazeera report last month from Libya-based doctors who said they had found Viagra in the pockets of pro-Gaddafi soldiers. But it is a jump from that to suggesting Gaddafi is supplying troops with it to encourage mass rape….”

people talk about rape during war as a weapon (pretty right) used to terrorize populations. eh. yeah, i guess hoardes of men entering your town and raping and pillaging everyone|thing in sight would be terrorizing, but i think (of course) the real reason for rape during wartime is more fundamental than even that.

what’s war all about? eliminating your competitors, i.e. competitors for resources. how do you eliminate them? well, killing them for one. you can also try to replace their genes by impregnating the women of whatever population you’re fighting. then you reduce the mating opportunities for the guys in that other group (’cause all their women are now pregnant) AND you increase your own reproduction rate. it’s a win-win situation!

also, i would think some really strong reproductive urges kick in when you’re at war. your genes are prolly “thinking”: sh*t. we could be dead any second now! better mate!

rape during human wars is kinda like my favorite example of male lions taking over a pride: they kill (or try to kill) the current males in the pride, kill all the young uns, and then mate with all the females. reproductive success! it’s all that matters.
